On October 21, 2026, a powerful hailstorm swept through North Phoenix, causing widespread damage to homes, businesses, and vehicles. Among those affected was our Sun Pain Management Phoenix clinic, where baseball-sized hail severely damaged the roof and caused extensive flooding throughout the facility.
The unexpected storm has forced us to temporarily close our Phoenix location. Despite the challenges ahead, our priority remains unchanged: ensuring that our patients continue receiving the care and support they depend on.
FOX 10 Phoenix Highlights the Storm’s Impact on Our Clinic
On October 23, FOX 10 Phoenix reporter Megan Spector visited our clinic to document the aftermath of the storm and share our story with the Phoenix community.
During the interview, Dr. David Towns of Sun Pain Management described how quickly the situation unfolded. In approximately 15 minutes, baseball-sized hail punctured the roof, allowing water to pour through ceilings and spread across treatment rooms, offices, and medical equipment.
Staff members responded immediately, using towels and bedsheets to manage the flooding as ceiling tiles collapsed and water accumulated throughout the building. The storm also severely damaged vehicles parked outside. Initial estimates placed roof repairs at approximately $300,000, not including additional damage to air conditioning systems, equipment, and the building’s interior.
We sincerely appreciate FOX 10 Phoenix and Megan Spector for covering this unexpected event and helping bring awareness to the challenges our clinic and the surrounding community are facing.

Our Commitment to Patient Care Continues
While the damage to our building is significant, our primary concern is the well-being of our patients. At Sun Pain Management, we understand that chronic pain does not pause during an emergency. Many of our patients rely on regular appointments, treatment procedures, and ongoing medical support to manage their conditions and maintain their quality of life.
Our Phoenix clinic is more than a building. It is a place where patients have built trusted relationships with their healthcare providers and received care throughout their pain management journeys.
Our building may be temporarily closed, but our dedication to those who depend on us remains stronger than ever.
To minimize disruptions, we are helping patients access alternative care options, including:
- Telehealth appointments for patients whose medical needs can be addressed virtually.
- Goodyear clinic appointments for patients requiring eligible in-person care.
- Surprise clinic appointments as another alternative for in-person treatment.
Patients with upcoming appointments at our Phoenix location are encouraged to contact our team at (602) 589-0500 for assistance with scheduling and available care options.
Rebuilding and Moving Forward Together
Restoring our Phoenix clinic will take time, and our team is working to assess the damage, coordinate repairs, and ensure the facility is safe before reopening. Although we do not yet have a confirmed reopening date, we remain focused on restoring normal operations as soon as it is safe to do so.
We are incredibly grateful to our staff for their dedication during the storm and their continued efforts to support our patients. We also want to thank our patients for their patience, understanding, and encouragement during this difficult period. Our thoughts are with everyone across Phoenix who experienced damage or disruption from the severe weather. As members of this community, we understand the challenges of rebuilding and recovering after an unexpected disaster.
Thank You for Standing With Sun Pain Management
The October hailstorm has created an unexpected challenge, but it has not changed who we are or why we serve our community. We remain committed to providing compassionate, reliable pain management care while working toward reopening our Phoenix clinic. Buildings can be repaired. Equipment can be replaced. But the trust our patients place in us is something we will always protect.
Thank you to FOX 10 Phoenix for sharing our story, to our dedicated team for their resilience, and to our patients and the greater Phoenix community for their continued support.
